The intent of God and the promise of Scripture for

the believer is that He will “sanctify you completely” and that we

will “be kept blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Yet, when one initially comes to faith in Jesus, he/she is far from

holy perfection. What will God use and how will He go about

transforming a sinner into a saint? Jacob’s experiences in this

passage provide a partial blueprint for the manner in which God

will amazingly change anyone who will come to Christ through

faith.
