Luke 24:13-31 Three days following His death upon

the cross, the gospel accounts report Jesus' resurrection and

several subsequent encounters with His followers. One such

encounter occurs with two of Jesus' disciples while they are

traveling and lamenting the death of Christ. Even as Jesus walks

and talks with them, the coolness of their hearts toward God is

apparent as they will not believe in Jesus' resurrection. However,

after Jesus reveals Himself through the Scriptures, their hearts

are set ablaze by His truth and for His glory.
