John 12:12-36 There are few terms which convey
great expectations like that of the term "glory." For the follower
of Jesus Christ, glorification entails that perfect, sinless state
in which we will be with Christ in Heaven forever, enjoying His
great reward. In our current passage of study in John's Gospel, it
is this very term for which Jesus brings into sharp focus. Yet, a
close reading of Jesus' use of this term reveals that its
attainment comes in a much different manner than most are willing
to pursue. We discover that the crown of glory only comes by the
cross of suffering.
