When pondering the mighty works of God in all of

creation and all of history, there is no shortage of reason to

offer wonder. However, recorded time and again in the pages of

Scripture, and even within our very passage of study, is God’s

greatest work. When God takes a man dead in sin and brings him to

life through His mercy, this is indisputably His greatest work.

While up to this point in the Genesis account Jacob’s life has been

marked by deception and greed, in just one night God transforms

Him. This is the great work that God is still performing through

the gospel.
