While the Bible consists of 66 different books with
more than 40 authors writing in the span of more than 1,500 years,
it promotes one primary message—the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether
reading the Old Testament or New, Jesus Christ is the central
figure toward which all others point. The gospel concerning His
perfect life, sacrificial death, glorious resurrection, and
imminent return forms the centerpiece for all of Scripture. So, as
we read of Abraham’s faith in God, we will discover anew why we
always have and always will need the gospel.
