On the heels of a glorious victory in faith (Gensis
14), we read that Abram's faith is beginning to wane. However, it
is in that very moment that God reassures Abram by pointing him to
the object of his faith. As God establishes a covenant with Abram,
we encounter why faith is so indispensable for a relationship with
God. In fact, Paul would point in Romans 4 to this very event as an
example as to the only means by which we can be made right with
God.
