John 11:1-44 There is perhaps no other miracle by
Jesus performed upon another more memorable than that of the
raising of Lazarus from the dead. From the outset of this passage,
Jesus makes clear that the purpose of the miracle is that God the
Father and God the Son would be glorified. Since the last enemy to
be destroyed is death (1 Corinthians 15:26), no miracle like the
resurrection glorifies God. As Lazarus would be a living testimony
to God's glory, so Christ's resurrection power in us brings glory
to God.
