The people of Jesus’ day, both the religious and

non-religious, had various ideas regarding the role of Messiah.

Their misunderstandings grew out of their own sin and lack of

faith. In the same manner, many today both in and out of the church

misunderstand Messiah’s mission. Jesus’ parable in this passage

reveals the mission of Messiah both then and now.
