John 8:31-47 John's Gospel presents a growing

conflict between Jesus and His opponents which will eventually lead

to Christ's crucifixion. As is becoming increasingly obvious, one

will either love Christ or hate Him. Whereas many claimed to follow

Christ, it becomes obvious that many such claims contain no

substance. There is no greater eternal danger than to be proven

"not of God"; in the text before us, we are given several

indicators of such a one. Let us consider these carefully that we

are assured of our place with God.
