A mark that validates the uniqueness of the
Scriptures as much as any other point is its forthright
presentation of its characters. The great men and women of faith
throughout the Bible are proven to be anything but perfect. Their
struggles with sin are obvious to any reader, and this is never
more apparent in Abraham’s life than in our current passage of
study. It is for this reason that this particular passage holds
such value for our own experience. A people who are prone to wander
need the reminder of God’s never-ending
faithfulness.
