John 13:31-38 Though Jesus had been very direct in

informing His disciples of His impending death upon the cross and

resurrection, they would remain obstinate to such an implausibility

right up to His arrest. Yet, just hours before these events would

unfold, Jesus would prepare them for the sweeping changes that

would soon take place. His words would encourage them to remain

faithful followers even when the familiar about them had changed.

In the same manner, we must take to heart God's Word amidst the

ever-changing circumstances of life; only then can we remain

steadfastly faithful.
