Revelation 2:1-7 Of the seven churches to which the

Apostle John would transcribe a direct message from Jesus, the

influential church of Ephesus would be the first. To a church that

most would consider to be effective in its ministry and faithful to

its witness, Jesus would communicate words of affirmation along

with a stern reprimand. The church was in danger of losing its

place... and the church of every age must evaluate its own

motivations or risk the same threat.
