Genesis 32 God covenanted with Jacob's grandfather,
Abraham, that He would bless their family abundantly. Greatest
among these blessings would be the sending of a Messiah through
their family line, One who would redeem the entire world. Yet, God
purposed not only to bring redemption through Jacob, but also to
Jacob. This passage emphasizes that God designs to offer us all of
His grace, but not until He owns all of us, painful though this
will be.
