John 1:35-51 John's stated purpose in writing his
Gospel was so that readers "may believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God" (John 20:31). Through faith in Christ, that person
finds eternal life. None were more exposed to this truth than the
very ones whom Jesus chose to follow Him as His disciples. In our
current passage of study, we are introduced to the manner in which
some of His closest disciples first came to follow Jesus. Their
stories intersect with our own as we appreciate the means by which
God brings people to the saving knowledge of
Christ.
