John 8:12-30 Throughout John's Gospel, he makes it
abundantly clear that Jesus has come to make Himself known as the
Son of God. Such knowledge is necessary for eternal life and is, in
fact, the very essence of that life (John 17:3). Our current
passage of study contains important pieces of theology (the
knowledge of God) whereby we would not be amiss upon that which God
requires for eternal life. Here, Jesus presents Himself as "the
Light of the world" so that we will walk not in
darkness.
