John 1:14-18 The first eighteen verses of John's
Gospel provide a well written prologue to the entirety of the book.
By it, the reader could well understand the theme of Jesus' life
and ministry. In our current passage of study, John sets out to
exemplify Jesus' preeminence over every other person and every
subject matter in all of Scripture and all of eternity. He does so
by contrasting Jesus to five historical events in the history of
God's dealings with His people. In conclusion, we are provided
irrefutable attestation that nothing else in all of life or
eternity compares to Christ.
